Direct cut headers for challenging tasks are increasingly in demand for the biomass harvest. Especially when it comes to unusually long, high-yield, non-homogeneous or flattened crops, many headers reach the limit of their capabilities.
That is why we added the completely re-engineered Profi-Cut 700 and ProfiCut 530 to our product range. With a working width of up to 7 m the headers set new benchmarks in performance.
The Optidisc mower bed supplied by Kuhn is lubricated for life. This disc cutterbar practically "chomps" through the crop. Power is transmitted via a 5-groove power band and distributed to the two cutterbars that are externally driven and synchronised. In keeping with the high harvest yields, the direct cut header features a large intake auger to cope with these great quantities.
Zürn rapeseed/canola side knifes are now also available for right and left hand side mounting on common Draper headers. The new side knife models are tailored to the specific cutting platforms.
Due to the proven purely mechanical drive, the side knifes convince by unmatched fast installation and removal. The slim design of the side knifes prevents unnecessary cutting losses. In addition, Zürn rapeseed/canola side knifes are running with very low vibrations, as there is no drive unit on top of the knife.
The award-winning electric driven cutting platform Zürn i-Flow is a joint development of several innovative project partners. Each partner contributed its experience to optimize not only the components in the respective areas of competence, but also to improve the overall system by cooperation.

By the interaction of theory and practice, an intelligent cutting platform was developed, which will improve the performance of the combination of cutting platform and combine.
The project was supported by funds of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) based on a decision of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany via the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) under the innovation support programme.
Zürn Harvesting GmbH & Co. KG, in collaboration with its partners, has equipped an entire combine header with electric drives. Field trials in 2014 and 2015 demonstrated a significant increase in performance when compared with hydraulically / mechanically driven headers on the same combine. The trials revealed the following: the more difficult and uneven the crop stand, the greater the increased efficiency of the i-Flow header. In 2015 the DLG (German Agricultural Society) awarded the manufacturer from Hohenlohe a silver medal for this innovative header concept.
All the header components feature electric drives: cutter bar, conveyor belts, auger and reel. The dual function of electric motors is cleverly utilised: they serve as both drives and sensors. As drives, their rotational speed and torque can be accurately controlled; as sensors they supply information about load and working conditions.
The new drive concept is notably the first time that smart operation has been applied within a header: the cutter bar drive load provides the speed-related information for the conveyor belts and the auger. If the cutter bar is working under high load, for instance, the belts and the auger will run faster.
