Zürn Harvesting

Together with the customers from the idea to the machine

11th Zürn Meeting of Innovations at Hohebuch

To find out more about the newest innovations of Zürn field research technology, field research technicians from all over the world met from November 30 to December 1, 2016, again at Hohebuch.

The historic walls of the old seed farmhouse proved itself once again to be the perfect scenery for the presentation of our modern machines. The entire Zürn product range for the mechanisation of field research was shown to our customers at the machinery exhibition.

The focus was on the presentation of our innovations. Including the modular weighing system ZÜRN WieSEL, the new high-clearance tool-carrier ZÜRN 540 and the newly designed plot combine ZÜRN 110. The new Yanmar engines for the plot combines ZÜRN 150 with proven diesel-only technology already meet the requirements of the future EU Stage 5 emission standard.

We would like to thank all our customers for the great exchange of ideas and the good cooperation in the last year and wish them all the best for the coming season.

Successful DLG Field Days in Haßfurt

At DLG Field Days Zürn Harvesting presented its innovative field research technology again to a broad expert audience. Shortly before the start of the harvest season, station managers, breeders and field research technicians from Germany and abroad visited our booth to get informed about the latest innovations in plot technology.

The new ZÜRN WieSEL is a modular expandable weighing system with intuitive touchscreen control for a reliable data-harvest with all Zürn plot combine harvesters.

Thank your for visiting us at DLG Field Days!

Despite adverse weather conditions some 22,000 visitors came to the DLG Field Days. The international crop production exhibition was held from 14 to 16 June 2016 at the estate Maria Burghausen in Hassfurt (Lower Franconia).

“BreedVision” – World´s first field phenotyping platform for crops successfully tested

Since 2012 several institutions joined forces in the research project PredBreed. They developed a system based on modern sensor technology enabling the rapid, non-invasive and accurate phenotyping of plants in the field.

On behalf of the joined institutions Zürn developed a mobile sensor platfrom. The modular designed high-clearance multifunctional-carrier vehicle ZÜRN 550-GT is continously adjustable in height and width. Now the self-propelled platform, equipped with various sensor systems, is ready for use and first test runs in the field have been successfully completed. The mobile platform "BreedVision" non-destructively collects data via modern sensor technology.

Mobile platform non-destructively collects data via modern sensor technology

This development represents the world's first vehicle of this kind and it is expected that it substantially accelerates and improves the phenotyping of plants under field conditions. This precision phenotyping holds the potential to advance knowledge-based breeding of many crops. In the PredBreed project in particular, the researchers plan to use the platform for the breeding of triticale as bioenergy crop.
